1012 officer-workers in providing Prime Minister’s residence to the ineligible
The allocation of accommodation to ineligible families under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural) has become costly for 109 officers and 903 employees. The Rural Development Department has initiated recovery action after disclosure of the houses allotted to 6881 ineligible families. Ineligible families will recover Rs 38,47,02,000.
In the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, houses were allotted to the homeless families based on the socio-economic survey of 2011-12. An investigation into complaints received by the department revealed that 6881 ineligible families have been allotted accommodation. The Rural Development Department has taken action against 260 village heads in this case. Has filed a lawsuit against 103, disqualifying 157 for action.
Similarly, a case has been filed against four BDO level officers. Three have been suspended. Departmental action was taken against 39 and 63 have been given adverse entry. A case has been filed against 106 employees. 138 have been suspended, departmental action has been taken against 232, 465 have been given adverse entry. While 1587 employees have been warned.
